Nick Farr-Jones on the Wallabies and Grass Roots Rugby
Author: Alex McLachlan
Nick Farr-Jones, a former Wallaby great has recently
talked about his ideas for improving the state of Australian rugby. NFJ has
come out and said that he believes that there should be a change to player’s
contacts, so they have to make 20-30 appearances at community rugby games and
events throughout the year. NFJ believes
that this will lead to a resurgence in grass roots rugby, as well as prepare
the professional players for life after rugby, teaching them communication
skills and ways to present themselves. NFJ praised the women of rugby, as they
often make appearances at community events such as Ladies Day for various local
clubs.
